Cascara Coffee Cherry Tea

This cascara from Verve gives intense sweetness of golden raisins paired with a complex tamarind acidity in this delicious cascara selection from the Bella Vista Mill.

 

Sourcing information:  Rich in caffeine and antioxidants, the consumption of cascara (otherwise referred to as “Qishr”) predates roasted and brewed coffee on the Arabian peninsula. To this day, qishr continues its reign as a more widely consumed and economically significant product than coffee in such countries.

Characteristics of a syrupy body and citrus appear alongside raisin notes once it cools. This tea can be brewed various ways and we recommend you experiment with different steeping times.

Variation of Recipe:

 

1) Weigh out 5g Cascara
2) 100ml Steep for 5 min @ BP
3) Add 20-30ml to trigger the Tea Siphon drain
4) Add 100ml of water to your cup (or more to dilute!)
